5 Ways You can Jump Start Your Blog in the New Year

At the start of a new year there’s always talk about new years resolutions and what we can do in the new year to help get us start the new year off on a good foot. This post is going to talk about how you can start off the new year with your blog. If you want to start the new year off with the right foot, take a look at these 5 ways you can get it going.

1) Get Your Copy of GeneratePress & Beaver Builder

I recently came across a perfect theme called GeneratePress. GeneratePress uses the WordPress customizer to allow you to design your site. It’s what this blog is using for a theme. You can use this in conjunction with Beaver Builder, to create custom landing pages, pages or a blog front page. Beaver Builder allows you to have total control over how you want to design your site. The Beaver Builder plugin also has many 3rd party options to help you get farther even quicker.

2) Quality Hosting

I can’t stress this enough. You need to have quality hosting for your site. If you are trying to make any money on your website (whether you are a blogger or a small business), you need to take this seriously. Invest in your success by going with a company like Liquid Web. They have everything you could ask for in a host. Best of all, it is a managed WordPress host, so you can be rest assured that your site is in good hands. For that there is only one. Your site is safe with Liquid Web*.

(*Full disclaimer – Liquid Web is my employer and this is the product I’m helping to build. It is not an affiliate link.)

3) Start an Email List

One of the biggest things you can do is when starting your new blog is to start an email list. It will be valuable to you later one when you want to sell something you’ve been working on. If people value what you say and do, they will subscribe. I’ve seen this time and time again with clients. I have a client right now that is getting over 3,000 new subscribers per month!! It is a wonderful thing to see them get that many new subscribers to a free email list. For 99% of the time, you can use MailChimp. It’s free for up to 2,000 contacts.

4) Create a Product or Service

After you have a few hundred subscribers, work at providing residual or passive income on your site. Create an ebook, a course, host webinars, share your knowledge with us in different ways. Your readers will buy if they like what you have to say. You will be surprised at how many of your subscribers will purchase your product or service because they like what you have to say or what you provide. A great resource for understanding all the options I presented is by my buddy Chris Lema. He has a course called Rainmaker Secrets.
